MESA, AZ - A Valley woman is hoping her tasty -- and patriotic -- dessert treat has what it takes to win her $1 million.
Charlotte Giltner, of Mesa, is one of 60 semifinalists in the 2013 Pillsbury Bake-Off.
Her "Red, White and Blue Dessert Tacos" feature Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits in the shape of a taco, wrapped around strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream.
"I've been baking since I was a little girl with my Grammy," said Charlotte.
Finalists will be picked in a new way this year, as Pillsbury members get to cast their votes for the top recipes.
The $1 million would really help Charlotte's family pay their huge medical bills. Charlotte's husband is a disabled veteran dealing with several health issues. "That million dollars would really help us," she said.
Be sure to show your support soon -- voting closes at 9:59 a.m. Arizona time on June 27!
