MESA, AZ - Mesa police say five vehicles were involved in a crash that resulted in serious injuries Wednesday morning.
It happened around 11:15 a.m. on McKellips Road between Val Vista Drive and Lindsay Road.
A police spokesperson said an 18-year-old male and another man in his 40s were both transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
An elderly woman was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Two others also had minor injuries.
Mesa fire crews said three of the vehicles suffered heavy damage.
One of the patients was rescued out of a vehicle using jaws and cutters.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
