MESA, AZ - Mesa police have located a missing 16-year-old girl.

According to Mesa police spokesman Anthony Landato, Skylar Sanders returned to her home on her own and was unharmed when she was returned.

Police say it does not appear she was "held against her will".

According to police, Sanders sent a friend text messages indicating that she was being held against her will at an unknown location. Sanders also mentioned she was not free to leave and she feared for her safety.

Mesa police will be interviewing her today, and evaluating the situation.
