MESA, AZ - A missing teen has returned to her East Valley home safe and sound, according to Mesa police.

Sgt. Anthony Landato said 14-year-old Shannonbeth Chavez had been missing since Friday night, when she was last seen at Southern Avenue and Signal Butte getting into a two-door black vehicle.

Police on Saturday asked for the public's help to find the missing girl.

Chavez’s mother reportedly told police it was very unlike Shannonbeth to take off and not contact anyone.

Landato on Sunday morning said the teen had returned home safely.
