MESA, AZ - A woman is in custody after being suspected of a vehicle burglary that took place Monday night in Mesa.
Police identified the suspect as Jill Pedersen.
The victim confronted Pederson who was in progress of burglarizing the victim’s black Lexus just after 6:30 p.m.
The suspect then ran away from the scene and left the vehicle in the driveway.
Police responded to the call and began a search with the Mesa Police Department Air Unit as well as the K-9 team.
Police located the suspect hiding in a backyard shed in the neighborhood, but she refused to exit the shed until an officer deployed his police dog.
The woman received bite marks from the police dog but was treated at the scene.
She was booked for theft of means of transportation, vehicle burglary, possession of burglary tools and trespassing.
