MESA, AZ - Authorities say a Mesa elementary school was on lockdown as they searched for a car theft suspect Wednesday morning.
According to Mesa police, the lock down at Stevenson Elementary on 96th Street just south of Broadway Road was just precautionary.
Sgt. Steve Berry said they found the vehicle but not the suspect who stole the car, as of 9:40 a.m.
Police and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office were seen at the school.
