MESA, AZ - A Mesa man who had some tools stolen from inside his car this summer was so frustrated he did some detective work and ended up not only finding his stolen property, but also helped police catch the suspect.
Last month, court paperwork shows the victim had power tools stolen he used for work.
He checked pawn shops on Craigslist and came across an ad trying to sell power tools.
When the victim took a closer look he thought the tools might be his so he setup a meeting with the seller.
The two met each other at Power and Baseline in Gilbert.
When the suspect showed the victim the tools, the victim immediately recognized his tools which were in the same bag they were stolen in.
When the suspect tried to get back into his car, the victim grabbed him until police arrived.
Daniel Roach, 26, was arrested for trafficking stolen property and for possession of stolen property.
Court records show Roach was released from prison in February for robbery and drug possession and Roach was still on probation.
