MESA, AZ -

A Mesa doctor accused of sexually abusing or assaulting a dozen of his female patients has been acquitted in the case.

Maricopa County prosecutors say jurors Wednesday found 45-year-old Gabriel Ogbonnaya not guilty on 11 counts of sex abuse and not guilty on one count of sexual assault.

The Arizona Medical Board suspended Ogbonnaya's license in June 2010 after Mesa police arrested him.

Ogbonnaya was first arrested in June 2010 after two women reported they were both inappropriately touched by the doctor during routine visits.

He was released from jail in days, but was re-arrested two weeks later after police say more women came forward with allegations.

The women reported that Ogbonnaya fondled them and told them to "have more sex" in incidents that happened between 2008 and 2010.
