MESA, AZ - A Mesa roadway was shut down for several hours Wednesday night as crews worked to piece together a car accident that left a pedestrian dead.
According to officials, crews were called to the scene near 104th Street and Brown Road in Mesa around 7:45 p.m. after a 42-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle near the intersection.
The woman reportedly died as a result of her injuries.
Detective Douglas with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said no alcohol was found on the driver and toxicology results for the pedestrian have not been analyzed yet.
Few details about the incident have been released.
