MESA, AZ - Main Street in Mesa was transformed into a TV watch party Wednesday night.
A few hundred people sat outside the building where the debate was being held, watching the action on a 40-foot projector screen.
"This many people here trying to get educated on the candidates, I think it's great." said Nancy Robinson.
During the day, the street was like a political picnic with something for everybody, from food to political buttons.
"I brought my family so my children can see how the system works." said Richard Mear of Mesa.
Ron Paul and Mitt Romney got most of the applause from the crowd.
There were a few groups of protesters including a Save Syria group, and a pro Dream Act group, but the largest and loudest were the Ron Paul supporters.
Several protesters exchanged words with police when they were forcefully asked to put down their bull horns.
