MESA, AZ - A Meineke Car Care Center was gutted by fire Monday night, according to the Mesa Fire Department.

Fire crews from Tempe and Chandler also responded to the location at Broadway and Dobson roads.

Air15 video showed burned areas on the outside of the structure as well as a collapsed roof.

Mesa Fire Department spokesman Forrest Smith said the fire appeared to have started in one of the service bays.

Smith said what was unusual about the fire was that there was a backdraft reported by initial crews, indicating the fire may have been burning for some time.

Smith said it is too early to tell if the fire is suspicious and investigators will be back out Tuesday to determine its origin and cause.
