MESA, Ariz. - A group of musicians, including Country music singer Lee Brice, had to evacuate their tour bus after it caught on fire Saturday.
A man who didn't want to be identified showed ABC15 video of the bus when it was fully engulfed in flames outside Toby Keith's Bar and Grill at Mesa Riverview.
"Fire was about as high as the roof of the building," said Mesa firefighter Shaun Denman.
He said firefighters worked fast to keep the fire from spreading to a trailer behind the bus.
Everyone inside the bus, including Brice, made it out safely.
"I was actually sleeping. A few of us were sleeping," Brice said.
Brice and the crew had just arrived in Mesa after being on the road for nine hours.
"They were like, bus is on fire, we're not kidding," Brice said. "So we had to run off and within a couple of minutes it was in flames. The whole back of the lounge was apparently burned through."
"We were worried about anyone being on the inside of the bus. So we went in there and it was clear," Denman said.
"There was a little charring on the some of the clothes but other than that everything came out okay," Denman added.
Aside from clothing, firefighters were able to remove luggage and equipment from inside the bus.
Brice is thankful no one was hurt.
"You know what, everybody is OK and that's really the most important thing," he said. "We're blessed. We'll be okay."
