MESA, AZ - A Valley man is fighting for his life, after doctors said he contracted the West Nile virus. Denny King is a local musician who has been in a coma for nearly a month.
"We were told, basically, if he did make it, it would be a one in a million chance," his daughter, Jessica King said.
But Denny's family has seen a glimmer of hope. He's making progress.
"This is nothing that anybody expected. Nobody expected him to wake up," Jessica said.
"We have seen his eyes open, you can see he knows who we are," his sister, Kim Aranda said.
Denny doesn't have health insurance and so far he and his family have racked up more than $300,000 in medical bills.
