MESA, AZ - Four Maricopa County vehicles at a county maintenance yard in Mesa were set on fire early Tuesday morning.
A sheriff's spokesman says deputies going on duty at a nearby facility at about 4 a.m. observed the fire, called the Fire Department and detained a person they found at the scene.
Deputy Joaquin Enriquez says arson detectives were en route to determine how the fire was set.
The burned vehicles included a sheriff's SUV and three vehicles used by other county agencies.
Enriquez says they have a suspect responsible for the fires in custody.
