GILBERT, AZ - It’s monsoon season and Arizona homes are facing the threat of storm damage during these summer months.
But what happens when your house is damaged by water, or even fire?
Businesses like Element Restoration, a Gilbert-based company, serve all of Arizona 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Element Restoration specializes in restoring commercial and residential properties that have been damaged by fire, flood, storms, or mold. The company does asbestos abatement, mold remediation, fire and smoke damage repair, and water extraction.
Malcolm Busby, owner of Element Restoration, started from the ground up after he began working for a builder who began to do the restoration side of the business.
When dealing with victims Busby says, “It’s always a dramatic experience to go through so you always want to make it comfortable for the homeowner. So what we do is we go in and we try to walk the loss with the homeowner and the insurance company and get them comfortable with what we do for them because we’re there to make their life a little bit easier. We try to give them some different tips of the things that they might need as they’re out of their house for a certain period of time.”
While you never know when you might become a victim, Busby offers some common advice.
“Smoke detectors are huge and making sure they always work. You can always call your local fire department to actually come down and they can actually help you test those things out,” said Busby.
