GILBERT, Ariz. - A Gilbert man has been arrested for assaulting his wife and breaking her jaw.
According to a Gilbert police report, 54-year-old Harold Gifford also made death threats against his wife Rita and left before officers arrived.
Rita was admitted to the hospital to be treated for the break to her jaw and sinus cavity bones.
Detectives from the Criminal Apprehension Team were called in to locate and apprehend Gifford.
He was located about four hours later while driving through his apartment complex and taken into custody without incident.
Gifford was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail for aggravated assault per domestic violence.
