GILBERT, AZ - A 28-year-old Gilbert motorcyclist was killed Friday night near Park Village Drive and Rock Street after a collision with a 16-year-old driver around 5:40 p.m.

Gilbert Police and Gilbert Fire say the 16-year-old girl driving a Toyota 4-Runner near the intersection of Rock Street turned south into the path of the motorcyclist, who was traveling north on Park Village Drive.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jenavieve Philips, was declared deceased after being transported to the Scottsdale Medical Center.

Officials are still trying to determine the cause of the accident, but do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors.
