GILBERT, AZ - Gilbert police launched an investigation after a man said he was robbed by an armed suspect while walking early Wednesday.
A 45-year-old Chandler man called police on his cell phone from the intersection of Arizona Avenue and Guadalupe to report he had been robbed around 1 a.m. at Desert and Arizona Avenue.
The victim reported he was walking on Arizona Avenue when a blue station wagon stopped.
According to a police report, a man exited the vehicle and displayed a handgun.
The suspect reportedly stole money from victim and left in the vehicle.
The case is under investigation and police said no further details will be released.
