Father of slain baby girl speaks to ABC15 News

GILBERT - The father of a baby killed in Gilbert this week told ABC15 News that his daughter was one of the best things he has ever done in his life.

"The day she was born was the best day of my life," said Jess Boggs, who at 22-years-old is already dealing with the loss of a child.

Boggs and Amber Mederos are the parents of Lilly. Amber was also shot to death.

He spoke to us at a family member's home a few miles from where the shooting took place.

"Words can't express what I am feeling. I didn't want to believe it. I didn't want it to be her." said Boggs.

Boggs found out yesterday by a phone call.

He refused to talk about J.T. Ready , the accused gunman, saying only the victims are worth remembering.

Boggs said he is sad that his other daughter, and a son on the way, will never really know their sister.
