GILBERT, AZ - A teacher who lives in Mesa and works in Gilbert has pleaded not guilty to charges accusing him of having sex with a 17-year-old girl who was one of his students.
A Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman says 29-year-old Andrew James Teaters pleaded not guilty on Monday.
He's accused of sexual conduct with a minor.
Gilbert police said Teaters told them that he got romantically involved with one of his students earlier this year.
He was a teacher at the Gilbert Early College and allegedly had sex with the 17-year-old female student while on school grounds.
