CHANDLER, AZ - Police have identified the victim and suspect after a woman was found stabbed to death in Chandler on Sunday.

Chandler police Det. Seth Tyler said a call came in around 11 a.m. to report a stabbing at an apartment complex near Ray Road and Hartford Street.

When officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Carmela Ginez unconscious and began life-saving measures.

Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A suspect was taken into custody Sunday afternoon, Tyler said.

He has been identified as 32-year-old Juan Ramone Flores-Castro of Tempe.

Flores-Castro will be booked into the Maricopa County Jail on one count of second-degree murder, according to Tyler.
