CHANDLER - UPDATE: One of the three suspects have been caught.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is searching for four people who escaped from deputies during a traffic stop Wednesday night.
MCSO spokesman Brandon Jones said deputies were working a human smuggling operation near Interstate 10 and Riggs Road when they tried to stop a vehicle.
When the vehicle stopped, Jones said four people got out of the car and took off into the desert.
The Chandler Police Department and the Department of Public Safety are assisting MCSO with the search.
A perimeter was set up late Wednesday night and K-9 units were headed to the scene to help out.
A sheriff's spokesman said more information would be released some time Thursday.
