CHANDLER, AZ - Police say officers found hundreds of marijuana plants inside a Chandler home Sunday night.
According to Chandler police, officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from a home near Pecos and McQueen roads around 8:30 p.m. after making an unrelated traffic stop.
"Nobody likes it," said neighbor John Lewis. "Can you stop it? No."
The patrol officers obtained a search warrant for the home where they found 322 potted marijuana plants and equipment used to grow and cultivate marijuana.
"Unless you make it a point to be involved with your neighbors you don't know anything," added Lewis. "I wouldn't have known what was going on."
Police found 25-year-old Sir Jorien Dwayne Marcette Jackson in the home and he was booked into jail for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, producing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police say it was the largest marijuana grow operation seizure in Chandler by patrol officers.
"It's alert patrol officers doing their job," said Det. David Ramer with the Chandler Police Department. "It's a good job by them."
