CHANDLER, AZ - A Valley woman tells ABC15 she is in fear after a violent carjacking that sent her to the hospital.
The two suspects are still on the loose after rear-ending the woman, attempting to steal her vehicle, and stabbing her in the head before fleeing the scene in Chandler Wednesday night, according to the Chandler Police Department .
Det. Seth Tyler said a 46-year-old woman was driving north on Gilbert Road from Pecos Road in Chandler when she saw a dark colored Nissan pick-up truck with a chrome grill and tinted windows approaching her from behind at a high speed.
The truck, which the woman described as older with lots of dents and scratches, rear-ended her vehicle, prompting her to pull over into the private driveway to Chandler Gilbert Community College and get out to assess the damage.
The driver of the truck got out of his vehicle as well and the two began looking over the damage. She described him as a skinny white male, about 6 feet tall, in his 20s, according to Tyler.
The driver began to argue with her as they talked about the damage and then, the passenger of the car as well, and started looking inside of her car.
As she shifted her focus to the passenger, the driver of the truck tackled her and the woman fell face down to the ground, Tyler said.
Seconds later, the victim said the violence escalated when one of the men pulled out a knife.
"I saw he had a knife with a black handle and he started stabbing me in the head with it," the victim told ABC15.
The driver screamed at her, “Where are the keys?” and the woman didn’t answer.
The passenger then allegedly yelled at the driver, “We’ve got to go!”
The two got back in the truck and sped away, forcing the woman to get out of the way quickly so they wouldn't run her over.
"I didn't know how far they were going to take that. They could have killed me, they could have cut my throat," said the victim. "I've been on an emotional roller coaster between crying and just fear."
According to Tyler, the woman said the driver had tattoos on his arms and neck, sores on his neck and dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a black hooded jacket with black jeans.
The victim described the passenger as a little heavier and taller than the driver with tattoos on his arms. He wore a white T-shirt with some kind of graphic print and writing on it and blue jean shorts, Tyler said.
The woman remained conscious after suffering lacerations to her head and immediately called 911 when the men drove away.
