CHANDLER, AZ - Police have arrested a man suspected of breaking into several cellular phone stores in Chandler.
According to Chandler police, the burglaries began in April and involved an individual wearing similar clothing, carrying a unique green backpack and using the same method to burglarize the stores.
Early Monday morning a patrol sergeant spotted a subject walking in the area of Chandler Boulevard and Price Road wearing a backpack similar to the one worn by the burglary suspect.
The suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Mark Anthony Voglio, emptied the backpack that held items used to commit burglaries, including gloves, wire cutters and a large river rock.
Detectives were able to tie Voglio to all eight burglaries through physical evidence and "other investigative techniques."
Police said investigators believe Voglio, a transient, committed the burglaries to support a daily spice drug habit.
Voglio was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on eight counts of third-degree burglary and one count each of possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property.
