CHANDLER, AZ - A man accused of stabbing his former girlfriend several times in the back last weekend has been arrested.
Chandler police say 18-year-old Victor Jacome was taken into custody in Phoenix around 1:30 Tuesday.
Jacome is accused of stabbing 21-year-old Sabrina Espanio at his home near Elliot and Dobson roads early Saturday morning.
Police say Espanio went to visit Jacome and when she decided to leave Jacome attacked her, stabbing her three to four times in the back and upper torso.
Espanio ran out of the home to a nearby Circle K where she sought help.
She was taken to a local hospital where she continues to recover after surgery, police say.
Jacome was located today through leads and investigation and booked into jail on a domestic violence aggravated assault charge.
