CHANDLER - A Valley family has lost their home Sunday morning after the intensity of the fire forced crews to go on the defensive.
Chandler Fire officials described the fire as being in concealed places, such as between the walls, in the floors and in the attic.
Crews responded to the home near the Loop 202 and Dobson in Chandler shortly after midnight. They found the home with smoke and fire coming out of windows in all areas.
Ten minutes into the fight, firefighters were forced to withdraw and go onto the defensive.
Fortunately no one was inside the home when it burst into flames. Witnesses told ABC15 that the family was out of town on vacation, but they have lived in the home for at least 12 years.
Crews were able to get the fire under control, however, the inside of the home has been heavily damaged.
