CHANDLER, AZ - A huge effort is underway in Chandler to collect school supplies for children in need.
Operation Back-to-School Chandler is underway and the goal is to provide supplies to 10,000 kids.
"It can be a tremendous stress on families," said Lori Tapia, of the Chandler Christian Center, one of many agencies joining forces. "When some people can't provide the stresses can build and lead to domestic violence and abuse and we want to reduce any barriers."
The drive ends July 20th. School in the Chandler Unified School District starts July 22.
Backpacks, school supplies and clothing donations are being accepted at several locations.
