CHANDLER, AZ - Police have released surveillance photos of suspects related to a series of vehicle burglaries across the Valley in which stolen IDs are used to cash forged checks at bank drive-throughs.
According to a Chandler police news release, the car burglaries began last November and have occurred at child daycare centers or city parks where the victims left a purse in the vehicle.
Police say the suspects used stolen IDs, checks and bank cards to cash forged checks at banks in Chandler and across the Valley.
Police say the suspects used wigs and other items to make themselves look more like the person whose stolen ID they are using.
Witnesses have reportedly seen a white minivan, possible a Dodge Grand Caravan leaving the area after the car burglaries. Chandler police say one vehicle identified in some of the crimes is a white 2009 Kia Borrego SUV and another is a black, newer model Mazda CX9 crossover SUV.
Chandler police say they have identified 17 different victims so far.
Anyone with information about these crimes is encouraged to call the Chandler Police Department at 480-782-4130.
