CHANDLER, AZ - The Chandler Fire Department was called to the scene of a fire reported at a landscaping business Friday night near Arizona Avenue and Germann Road.
According to spokesman Brad Miller, the fire started around 9:40 p.m. Friday night, burning debris and mulch.
The mulch and debris at the business was reportedly piled up to 20 feet high in some places over an acre.
The owner’s mulcher had been broken for some time, explaining why the landscaping crews were bringing the product back to the business location.
Fire crews were at the scene of the fire overnight making sure flames were extinguished and the business was turned back over the owner Saturday morning, Miller said.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the cause of the fire.
It is unknown whether or not the owner will face any possible violations.
