GOLD CANYON, AZ - Drivers experienced major delays Monday afternoon in the East Valley near the Renaissance Festival.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said around 2 p.m. that the backup was about 10 miles long to the annual festival on eastbound US 60 near Gold Canyon.

Air15 video around 1 p.m. showed stagnant traffic in the area and a packed parking lot at the festival.

At one point, backup was about 13 miles long.

ADOT said drivers were darting off the US 60 at Signal Butte to avoid the delays.
