APACHE JUNCTION, AZ - The Valley paid tribute Sunday night to a 13-year-old boy Friday afternoon.

Manuel "Manny" Garcia died after being hit by a car next to the Tomahawk onramp of the US 60.

A few hundred people showed up at Manny's favorite skate park to say goodbye.

"He was a guy you could talk to," said Abby Davis who was Manny's friend. "It is impacting a lot of lives, my life, and we are here to show his family we cared about him."

Family, friends and fellow classmates held candles and huddled around Manny's mother and the rest of his family.

Friends said Manny spent a lot of time at the park and was really good at riding his scooter. It was something he hoped to turn into a career one day.

Instead, his family is now planning his funeral for later this week.
