PHOENIX - A Phoenix elementary school was put on lockdown Thursday morning after a woman was reportedly seen outside with a gun.
The incident began around 9 a.m. when a woman got into an argument with her husband who said he was going to divorce her, according to Phoenix police.
Sgt. Tommy Thompson said the incident occurred near Central Avenue and Broadway Road.
The woman reportedly threatened to hurt their children and said she was going to the school.
The husband jumped onto the hood of the car and she drove away. The man ended up falling off the car.
Southwest Elementary School was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Thompson said the woman never made it to the school.
She was taken into custody without incident by police.
There was no word on whether the woman faces any charges.
