PHOENIX - Authorities say a security guard was shot in the back after breaking up a fight in South Phoenix early Sunday morning.
Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said a homeowners’ association security guard broke up a fight involving several males in a neighborhood near 81st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road around 1:45 a.m.
As he was returning to his vehicle a shot was heard and he was shot in the back.
Crump said the injury is not life-threatening.
