PHOENIX - A man is dead and a woman wounded after a double shooting in Phoenix.
Phoenix police say officers were called out for a reported car crash into a tree about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday near 35th Avenue and Baseline Road.
Police then learned it was a shooting case.
Phoenix Fire Department officials say when crews arrived at the scene, they found a man dead in the vehicle and a woman with multiple gunshot wounds to the legs and abdomen.
The woman has been transported to a hospital, but her condition isn't immediately available.
Authorities haven't released her name or the identity of the dead man.
Police say the vehicle apparently drove up on the sidewalk and struck a tree, but it's unclear how the shooting occurred or how many people were involved.
