PHOENIX - A head-on collision in south Phoenix has left several people injured, including children Friday night.
Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said an SUV and passenger car collided at 31st and Southern avenues, leaving multiple people with serious injuries.
According to Martos, the most severely injured victim is an 8-year-old child.
Rescue units that responded to the scene Friday night transported everyone injured in the wreck to local hospitals. The specific extent of injuries is unclear at this time.
Air15 video showed multiple emergency vehicles at the scene as victims were loaded into ambulances and transported from the area.
Martos said the intersection was expected to be shut down for several hours. Further details were not released.
