PHOENIX - A woman who was shot at her south Phoenix home Sunday night by a man who later killed himself has died from her injuries, police said.
Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said officers responded to the woman's home near 35th Avenue and Baseline Road after neighbors reported hearing shots fired at the house.
According to Thompson, the woman, two of her children, two of her friends and a child of one of the friends arrived at the home around 8:30 p.m.
The 29-year-old victim reportedly went to a back room where she found her boyfriend, and the two began arguing. Witnesses then reported hearing gunfire coming from the room.
The woman's friends quickly exited the home with the children, Thompson said.
The suspect reportedly then came out of the home and said he was going to kill himself before going back inside.
Thompson said another gunshot was heard coming from inside the home a short time later.
Responding officers reportedly made a "crisis entry" to remove the victim and immediately began CPR.
She was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries, Thompson said.
During a sweep of the house the suspect was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The victims' names have not yet been released.
