PHOENIX - A mother and daughter are recovering Friday night after being struck by a car near a busy Valley shopping area in south Phoenix.

The two were reportedly crossing mid-block near the Target at 48th Street and Ray Road in Ahwatukee when they were hit.

Phoenix fire officials said the woman and her 2-year old daughter were rushed to the hospital where they were treated for non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car stopped and cooperated with police. Police said he will not be cited.
