Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said the truck was taken from a construction site on or near ASU West near 43rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road early Wednesday morning.
Crump said the police department's helicopter spotted the vehicle and after a short foot pursuit in a residential neighborhood the suspect was taken into custody near 43rd Avenue and Sweetwater Avenue.
Crump said the suspect had tried to take a couple of cars from a nearby McDonald's restaurant parking lot but was unsuccessful.
