PHOENIX - A motorcycle accident in north Phoenix Saturday afternoon has left two people in extremely critical condition.
According to Phoenix Police Department spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos, officers responded to the intersection of 19th Avenue and Jomax Road around 2:30 p.m. after reports of a single vehicle accident.
Investigators said the man and woman, both in their 40s, were riding together on the motorcycle, traveling northbound on 19th Avenue when they attempted to turn left onto Jomax Road. The driver was unable to safely make the turn and laid the motorcycle down in the roadway.
Both victims were not wearing helmets and alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident, Martos said.
