PHOENIX - One person was killed and two others were injured in a violent Phoenix accident Tuesday night.

Phoenix Police Department spokesman Trent Crump said crews responded to the scene near 7th Avenue and Camelback Road around 10 p.m.

According to police, a vehicle was traveling southbound on 7th Avenue at approximately 90 mph.

"This is a traumatic scene," Crump said.  "For someone to witness this, it would be very difficult."

Crump said a group of 25-35 tourists exited the light rail at the 7th Ave. station after attending a Diamondbacks game.

Ramzy Khalil was last in the group and was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by the vehicle.

The driver then allegedly struck two other vehicles before the car hit the side of a building and burst into flames.

The driver of that vehicle suffered minor injuries and the drivers of the two other vehicles were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police at the scene.

The driver told officers he had a medical emergency before the crash.

It is unclear if alcohol or weather played a factor in the wreck.

The intersection was closed throughout the night, but re-opened around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

"We will look at video from the light rail, we will look at cameras, we will talk to witnesses," Crump said.

Khalil was visiting from Australia.
