PHOENIX - Police say a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident in the north Valley early Wednesday morning.
Phoenix police Lt. Russ Frederiksen said officers responded to the accident near 38th Drive and Peoria Avenue where a vehicle and the motorcycle collided around 12:15 a.m.
The 23-year-old motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.
Frederiksen said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but was not alert when officers arrived.
The driver of the vehicle and witness were being interviewed and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
Police are looking for more witnesses to come forward since the statements from the driver and witness are slightly different.
Frederiksen said it did not appear at this point that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
