PHOENIX - Phoenix police say a motorcyclist has died after an accident involving an SUV in the north Valley.
The collision occurred near 24th Street and Bell Road Saturday afternoon.
Officer James Holmes said a GMC SUV driven by a 25-year-old woman was coming out of a private drive to go north on 23rd Street and the motorcyclist was traveling west on Bell Road.
The motorcyclist apparently saw the SUV and laid the motorcycle down to avoid it but the vehicle ran over him.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died.
On Monday he was identified as 40-year-old Eric B. Brown.
Holmes said the driver of the SUV was issued civil citations related to the collision.
