PHOENIX - A truck hit a light pole and crashed into an apartment complex after a driver was shot and killed in Phoenix, police said early Monday.

Trent Crump with the Phoenix Police Department said two men were in a truck traveling eastbound near 30th Street and Paradise Lane around midnight.

They reportedly encountered two men on a sidewalk when shots were fired.

Crump said the passenger bailed from the truck, but the driver was shot.

The truck ran off the road, hit a light pole and then went into the Paradise Villas apartments on the corner, according to Crump.

The driver was killed. His identity has not been released, but police said he is a Hispanic male between 21 and 25 years old.

No arrests have been made as of Monday morning. The suspects have only been described as Hispanic males between 18 and 22 years old.
