PHOENIX - A quick response by firefighters was not enough to save a house that went up in flames Wednesday night.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Scott McDonald said the fire broke out at a home near 40th Street and Cactus Road around 7:30 p.m.
McDonald said everyone was able to get out of the single-story home safely.
Fire crews said the homeowner was trying to save her car by backing it out of the garage, but firefighters had to stop her because of the risk.
Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
