PHOENIX - A 43-year-old man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a wrong-way driver on the Loop 101 in north Phoenix on Sunday.

DPS officials said the driver was heading eastbound in the westbound HOV lane of traffic when he collided with two motorcycles around 3:30 p.m.

One of the cyclists died, the other suffered non life-threatening injuries. DPS said the driver of the wrong-way car was not injured.
