PHOENIX - Westbound Loop 101 in north Phoenix was backed up for miles Friday after a Department of Public Safety motorcycle officer got into an accident with an SUV.
The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. on the Loop 101 and Cave Creek Road.
DPS spokesman Carrick Cook said the officer was taken to John C. Lincoln Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The other driver was not hurt.
It is unclear at this time what caused the accident.
The Loop 101 westbound at Cave Creek Road re-opened around 6:10 p.m.
