PHOENIX - A deadly crash caused traffic delays Tuesday morning on a north Valley freeway.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the single-vehicle collision happened around 5:50 a.m. on southbound Interstate 17 north of Bell Road.
DPS spokesman Bart Graves said the 29-year-old female driver for an unknown reason lost control of the vehicle and slid sideways, colliding with a light pole.
Graves said the driver was the only person in the vehicle and she died at the scene.
He said there were no signs of impairment.
