PHOENIX - Authorities have captured a beer run suspect after he escaped from police custody Thursday night.
Phoenix police spokesman Tommy Thompson said the incident happened at the police station near 39th Avenue and Cactus Road.
Thompson said the suspect was taken into custody after he tried to steal beer and got into a fight with a security guard.
When the arresting officer took him to the police station, he managed to sneak out of the precinct.
Authorities said he was later found in a backyard across the street.
Police have not released the suspect's name yet.
