PHOENIX - A $6,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the theft of 13 firearms from a north Phoenix gun store.
According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), on October 7 three men broke into the C3 Arms, located near 35th Avenue and Greenway Road, just after midnight.
Surveillance video showed that the unknown males pried open the front door to get into the store.
All three wore bandanas or T-shirts wrapped around their faces to hide their identities, authorities said.
Video was able to pick up a partial image of the suspects’ vehicle, which appeared to be a white Chevy pickup truck with no visible license plate.
ATF Special Agent Thomas Mangan called the theft brazen and said he is concerned the weapons are in the hands of criminals. He said the guns are a threat to law enforcement and the community.
Mangan said the weapons included 11 long guns, five of which were Colt AR-15 rifles. Also stolen were high caliber rifles and shotguns, handguns, handguns and semi-automatic pistols. The guns are worth over $10,000.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help to solve this crime and hope the reward money will provide additional leads.
The ATF is offering a $5,000 reward and Silent Witness has added another $1,000 reward to help solve this gun theft.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or on line at silentwitness.org .
